The HVHTA is a not-for-profit organization that was incorporated on June 6, 1995. Through an agreement with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) HVHTA has the right to establish and operate a trail for recreational hiking on TRCA lands in the Humber Valley. The TRCA shall have the right to exclude all non-hiking uses of the trail. HVHTA endeavours to provide the highest quality pedestrian hiking experience to enable learning and appreciation of the amazing natural beauty and diversity of the Humber Valley.
Proceeding south from the Trans Canada Trail, you will traverse Albion Hills Conservation Area and Duffy’s Lane through an interesting array of old fields, meadows, lowland cedar groves and mature upland maple forests. A side trail extends to the Highway 50 - Columbia Way intersection and on the Caledon Wellness Centre Parking lot. The main trail continues south through ancient climax Hemlock groves and crosses the Humber River in the Glasgow Road area. It winds along the river through downtown Bolton to Caledon-King Townline Road. Planning of the trail in King Township and Vaughan is proceeding.
The HVHTA will host its 2023 Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, April 12 from 7pm to 9pm at the Caledon Seniors Centre, 7 Rotarian Way, Bolton.
The Guest Speaker will be Alan Duffy, a direct descendant of Eliza Duffy. Alan Duffy has been restoring the Duffy homestead which is located on the east side of Emil Kolb Parkway and north of King Street. You can meet Alan at the AGM, hear him speak and he will answer your questions about the restoration project and the museum.
